Feed & Transfer Pumps

Overview

A feed pump — also called a feeding pump, transfer pump, or 提料泵 — moves the A and B raw materials from the storage drum or IBC tote into the spray machine’s day tank. A high-pressure proportioner cannot reliably draw thick polyol resin and isocyanate up from a drum on its own; the feed pump keeps both day tanks topped up at a steady supply pressure so the machine never starves or cavitates mid-spray.

Why a feed pump matters

  • No more manual pouring — hand-pouring from drums is slow, messy, and lets moisture and dirt into the isocyanate side, which causes crystals and off-ratio spray.
  • Steady supply pressure — a feeding pump holds constant inlet pressure so the proportioning pump always has material, preventing cavitation and the off-ratio shots that ruin a coating.
  • Sealed, dry transfer — closed transfer from drum to machine keeps the moisture-sensitive B (isocyanate) side sealed and contamination-free.
  • Matched A and B pumps — resin and isocyanate are supplied by their own feed pumps so both day tanks stay balanced.

Pneumatic vs electric feed pumps

Pneumatic feed pumps (air-driven ram / piston) run on shop air, are simple and explosion-tolerant, and are the usual choice for 200 L drums. Electric feed pumps (220 V / 380 V) deliver higher, automated throughput for 1000 L IBC totes and continuous production. High-viscosity resin can use a ram with a follower plate to push material to the pump inlet.

Feed pumps are configured for the container you buy material in — 25 kg pails, 200 L drums, and 1000 L IBC totes. Most JYYJ setups ship with two feed pumps (one for A, one for B); larger or faster lines move up to electric IBC pumps.
