Overview

The spray gun is the contact point between operator and material, and it is where two-component PU foam and polyurea are actually mixed. Pioneer guns are impingement-mixing, two-component (A/B) spray and casting guns: the heated A and B streams collide and mix inside the gun at high pressure, with no static mixer to clean. Gun choice sets the spray pattern, atomisation quality, clogging behaviour, and operator fatigue, so it is worth matching the gun to the work.

Engineering that prevents clogging and downtime

  • Precision CNC-machined alloy body — all parts are precision-engraved and turned, not cast, eliminating the porosity defects of cast gun bodies; lightweight and durable.
  • Special anti-corrosion surface treatment — the body surface resists strong acid, strong alkali, and gun-wash solvent without corroding.
  • Air-material split design — air and chemical paths are separated, minimising the gun-body clogging that plagues simpler designs.
  • One-way (check) valve design — prevents A/B backflow and cross-contamination when side pressures drift out of balance, a common cause of hardened-material clogs.
  • Imported-alloy mixing chamber and friction pair — specially treated for abrasion and long service life under fast-set polyurea.

Air-purge vs mechanical-purge

Pioneer supplies two purge families. Air-purge guns clear the mixing chamber with a burst of air after each trigger pull — lower maintenance and ideal for shift-based contracting where the gun is triggered on and off. Mechanical-purge guns use a moving rod to push material out for continuous, high-volume production and industrial / OEM lines.

One gun for spraying and casting

The same gun handles PU spray foam, PU casting (pour) foam, and polyurea spraying. Nozzles swap quickly between round spray, fan spray, and casting patterns, so one rig covers wall and roof spraying, cavity pour-fill, and polyurea coating without changing guns. Mixing chambers are selected by output (smaller chamber for fine control, larger for maximum throughput).

Frequently asked questions

Can one gun spray both polyurethane foam and polyurea?

Yes. These are two-component impingement guns rated for both PU foam and fast-set polyurea; you match the mixing chamber and nozzle to the output and pattern you need. The same gun also does casting (pour) foam by switching to a casting nozzle.

How do I choose the mixing chamber size?

Mixing chambers are sized by output: a smaller chamber (e.g. 50) gives finer control at lower flow, a larger chamber (100–120) supports maximum throughput on big spray jobs. We match the chamber set to your machine output and application.

What stops the gun from clogging?

Several features work together: air-material split paths, one-way check valves that stop A/B backflow, dual-side filter screens, and a modular mixing chamber you can pull and clean in seconds. Air-purge clears the chamber after every pull.
