Overview

A heated hose carries the A and B components from the machine to the spray gun while holding them at spray temperature. The moment chemicals leave the heated proportioner, an ordinary hose lets them cool — viscosity climbs, the gun struggles to mix and atomise, and you get off-ratio, rough spray and soft cure. The heated hose is what lets you spray far from the rig and keep spraying in cold weather, so hose length and heating method directly set how big an area one setup can cover.

How a heated hose holds temperature

  • High-pressure chemical core — an inner tube rated to the machine pressure carries each component; A and B run in their own heated lines.
  • Resistance heating element — a heating wire runs the length of the hose to add heat continuously, not just at the machine.
  • RTD temperature feedback — a sensor in the hose reports temperature back to the machine’s heat controller, which holds the set point end-to-end instead of guessing.
  • Thermal insulation + abrasion jacket — insulation keeps the heat in; a tough outer jacket survives being dragged across roofs, scaffold, and concrete.

Length, reach, and the whip hose

Heated sections daisy-chain — 15 m → 30 m → 60 m → 120 m and beyond — so one rig reaches an entire commercial roof, tank top, or warehouse floor without repositioning the machine. At the gun, a short whip hose (3 m / 6 m) stays light and flexible in the operator’s hand for the last metre, cutting fatigue on long passes.

Jacket-heated vs axially-heated for cold climates

Jacket-heated hose (standard) wraps the heating element around the core and suits most temperate work. Axially-heated hose runs the element along the core for faster, more even heat — the right choice for cold-climate spraying (Russia / CIS and winter roofing) where ambient is at or below freezing and an under-heated hose would stall the job.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need a heated hose instead of a normal high-pressure hose?

Polyurethane and polyurea spray at a controlled temperature. A normal hose lets the heated chemical cool on the way to the gun, raising viscosity and wrecking mix and atomisation. A heated hose holds the temperature all the way to the gun so the spray stays on-ratio and atomised.

How long a hose can I run?

Sections daisy-chain to 120 m and beyond (100 m+ on large rigs) as long as the machine’s heating and pressure can support the run. We size the heating power and section count to your reach and ambient temperature.

What is a whip hose?

A whip hose is a short, flexible heated section (3 m or 6 m) at the gun end. It keeps the last metre light and manoeuvrable in the operator’s hand while the long main hose carries the bulk of the distance.
