The Challenge

Equipment vault experienced water intrusion through cold joints and tie-rod penetrations. Chemical exposure ruled out epoxy systems. Downtime cost $15k/day — needed return-to-service in under 72 hours.

Our Solution

Abrasive blasted to CSP 4. Applied pure polyurea membrane at 2.5mm DFT using JYYJ-H-V6 at 36 MPa with manual precision metering precision. Gel time tuned to 8 seconds for vertical work, cure to service in 30 seconds.

What Pioneer Delivered

Not just a machine — a matched system, a trained crew on site, and after-sales backing end to end.

  • On-site survey of the vault — mapping the cold joints and tie-rod penetrations that were the real leak paths and confirming the concrete could be primed damp before any spray.
  • A single-source system — the JYYJ-H-V6 machine and the chemical-resistant pure polyurea matched, tuned to an 8-second gel and warranted together, not equipment and material sourced from three suppliers who blame each other.
  • A spray crew trained for confined-vault vertical and overhead work and fast-gel polyurea — the hard part of waterproofing is laying an even pinhole-free film on walls, and we own it.
  • Holiday-tested QA and a return-to-service plan built around $15k/day downtime — the equipment vault went back to service the same day, saving roughly $30k versus a 3-day epoxy alternative.
  • Ongoing remote support for ratio, temperature and gel-time tuning, plus re-order of the exact matched chemical-resistant polyurea — so the next vault or repair is a phone call, not a new project.

Execution Process

  1. 1 · Abrasive Blasting to CSP 4

Vault floor and walls are abrasive-blasted to a CSP 4 concrete surface profile, opening the pores and removing laitance, old coatings and contamination. Cold joints and tie-rod penetrations are routed and prepared as the known leak paths.

  2. 2 · Primer & Detail Setup

A moisture-tolerant primer is applied to the blasted concrete and the routed cold joints and penetrations are detailed to anchor the membrane. The JYYJ-H-V6 is set to 36 MPa with its manual precision metering, gel time tuned to 8 seconds for vertical work.

  3. 3 · Pure Polyurea Spray Application

Spray 2.5 mm DFT of pure polyurea over floor and walls with the JYYJ-H-V6 at 36 MPa, the 8-second gel letting the film build on vertical surfaces without sag. The seamless monolithic membrane bridges every cold joint and tie-rod penetration.

  4. 4 · Cure & Same-Day Return

The polyurea cures to service in about 30 seconds and the membrane is holiday-tested for pinholes before the vault is signed off. With chemical resistance and over 400% elongation built in, the equipment vault is returned to service the same day.

Why This Model Is Commonly Selected

The JYYJ-H-V6 is a 36 MPa hydraulic machine commonly selected for pure and hybrid polyurea coatings. High pressure and stable proportioning support fast-curing polyurea for seamless waterproofing and lining membranes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why hydraulic for polyurea?
Polyurea gels in seconds and needs stable high pressure; a 36 MPa hydraulic drive delivers consistent output for even film build.
Does polyurea need special hose/temperature?
Yes — polyurea runs at a higher material temperature (~65°C) and uses a polyurea-rated heated hose.

Recommended Configuration

  • Main proportioning unit
  • Fusion-compatible spray gun
  • Two transfer pumps
  • 15 m heated hose (7 m on D casting models)
  • Tool kit
  • IPPC export wooden case
