Complete Spray Foam Rig Package: BOM & Price

Quick answer. A complete spray foam rig package should connect seven procurement blocks: the proportioner, impingement spray gun, heated hose, two feed pumps, correctly sized air compressor, start-up spares and matched A/B raw materials. Pioneer factory-direct packages run from $3,250 to $11,200, but the final spray foam machine package price depends on the selected 25–36 MPa machine, 2–15 kg/min output, hose length, voltage, compressor scope and material quantity.

The word “turnkey” must be defined on the quotation. Pioneer’s standard machine package contains one proportioner, one Fusion-compatible gun, two transfer pumps, 15 m of heated hose, a tool kit and an IPPC-treated export case; the compressor, extended hose, spare-parts quantity and raw materials must be listed separately when required.

What belongs in a complete spray foam rig package?

The proportioner is the center of the system, yet it cannot draw two 200–220 kg drums, maintain temperature through 15 m of hose and atomize material by itself. A purchase order should identify every connection from the A-side and B-side drums to the gun tip.

The proportioner line item should state more than “spray foam machine.” For example, the JYYJ-H600 is a hydraulic 36 MPa platform with 2–12 kg/min output for polyurethane foam and polyurea. That specification separates it from a 25 MPa pneumatic foam unit before accessories are discussed.

The gun BOM should name the installed mixing chamber and include at least one service set for its seals and filters. If a buyer expects two operators, the quotation must show two guns; one supplied gun plus one photograph of a spare gun does not equal two production stations.

The standard 15 m heated hose is suitable for compact insulation rigs and work close to the machine. A 45 m or 90 m arrangement requires an itemized extension set, compatible electrical loading and confirmation that the selected proportioner can sustain the target pressure and temperature at the gun.

Match the BOM to the machine, material and job size

A pneumatic foam crew and a high-output polyurea crew should not receive the same BOM. Pioneer’s JYYJ-3H operates at 25 MPa with 2–10 kg/min output, while the JYYJ-Q300 raises the pneumatic pressure class to 30 MPa at the same 2–10 kg/min output range.

These pneumatic machines suit insulation contractors seeking a lower initial package price. Their compressor must power the proportioner, the two drum pumps and the gun’s air functions simultaneously, so compressor selection must use delivered cfm or L/min at the required pressure rather than motor horsepower alone.

For continuous polyurethane and polyurea work, the hydraulic JYYJ-H600PK delivers 2–10 kg/min at 36 MPa. Its 7-inch PLC stores process recipes, while its 1:1–1:2 adjustable ratio supports materials whose published formulation requires something other than a fixed 1:1 volume ratio.

The ratio control is a procurement decision, not a field correction for poor temperature control. A 1:1 material should normally be sprayed at the material manufacturer’s specified 1:1 setting; changing the ratio to hide unequal A/B pressure can produce uncured coating or foam.

At the top of the Pioneer line, the JYYJ-H-V8T supplies 2–15 kg/min at 36 MPa. Its specification includes a 10-inch PLC, 32 kW total connected power, 26 kW heating, a 0–80°C control range, fixed 1:1 ratio, 15 m standard hose and 338 kg net machine weight.

A V8T rig therefore needs a three-phase supply planned around the 32 kW connected load. The standard configuration is 380 V, three-phase, 50 Hz; 220 V, 380 V or 110 V export configurations must be confirmed before production because voltage, phase, plug, breaker, cable and generator capacity are separate data points.

Compressed air quality belongs in the technical schedule. ISO 8573-1:2010 compressed-air purity classes classify particles, water and oil; the buyer and compressor supplier should agree on the required class, dryer and filtration arrangement for the actual climate and equipment manual.

How to calculate the real spray foam machine package price

Pioneer’s $3,250–$11,200 range covers factory-direct configurations from pneumatic spray-foam packages to PLC-controlled hydraulic equipment. The range is an equipment budget, not an automatic landed-and-commissioned price in every country.

Ask for one commercial table separating machine, accessories, optional compressor, raw materials, export packing, freight and destination charges. This prevents a $3,250 equipment offer from being compared with an $11,200 package containing PLC control, 36 MPa hydraulic drive, 15 kg/min capacity and extra site hardware.

A practical landed-cost worksheet

Suppose a buyer receives a $7,500 factory package quote. If estimated ocean freight and insurance are $1,600, destination handling is $650, import duty is 5% of an assumed $9,100 customs basis, and local electrical work is $900, the planning total becomes $11,105 before tax: $7,500 + $1,600 + $650 + $455 + $900.

That calculation is an example, not a freight or customs quotation. The importer must replace every assumption with the forwarder’s route, case dimensions, gross weight, tariff classification, local duty rate and tax treatment.

For a Graco or PMC comparison, place both offers against the same BOM: identical pressure class, output range, heated-hose length, gun quantity, two transfer pumps, compressor scope, start-up spares, warranty exclusions and freight basis. Comparing a Pioneer turnkey polyurea spray equipment package with a competitor’s bare proportioner produces a false saving in either direction.

The factory-direct advantage is clearest after normalization. Pioneer positions the 36 MPa, 2–15 kg/min JYYJ-H-V8T as a Graco Reactor 2 E-30-class alternative at roughly one-fifth of the acquisition price, while retaining a 10-inch PLC, 26 kW heating and a standard gun-pump-hose package; buyers should verify the claim against current written Graco and PMC distributor quotes in their country.

Calculate consumables separately from capital equipment. If a crew sprays 800 kg during one project, material cost equals 800 multiplied by the delivered price per kg; it should not be hidden inside the machine price because coating type, density, drum weight and freight change independently.

Lead time also has a cash value. Pioneer lists in-stock V8T units at up to 1 week before shipment and spare parts at 3–5 days by air, while custom voltage or hose arrangements require confirmation; add transit, customs and site preparation to establish the actual start date.

Commissioning checklist: from crate to first spray

Before shipment, approve a written BOM with quantities and model codes. Record the proportioner serial number, gun chamber, hose length, two pump models, voltage, frequency, phase, connected kW, compressor requirement, spare-kit contents, material batch documents and export-case measurements.

  1. Confirm the site supply against the nameplate: voltage, phase, frequency, breaker, cable size and grounding. For the standard V8T specification, plan for 380 V three-phase, 50 Hz and 32 kW rather than a domestic outlet.
  2. Inspect the 15 m heated hose, electrical connectors and fluid fittings before pressurization. Do not substitute a hose whose working-pressure rating is below the machine’s 36 MPa maximum.
  3. Connect one transfer pump to each labeled drum and keep A-side and B-side tools separated. Record drum net weights before the test so consumption can be reconciled after spraying.
  4. Circulate and warm material only within the supplier’s TDS window. The V8T can control 0–80°C, but an 80°C machine limit is not permission to heat every formulation to 80°C.
  5. Bring both sides to pressure, check the A/B gauge relationship and make a controlled test spray. Stop on persistent pressure divergence, abnormal color, soft material or poor atomization.
  6. Record settings, test-panel result and material batch numbers. For the H600PK, save the approved ratio and temperature as a PLC recipe only after the test panel passes inspection.

Commissioning also requires exposure controls. OSHA identifies polyurethane foam blowing and surface coating as work involving isocyanates and associates exposure with occupational asthma, breathing difficulty and skin or eye irritation; review the OSHA isocyanates guidance before selecting ventilation and PPE.

For spray-on polyurethane and polyurea lining, NIOSH documents high-pressure application above 1,500 psi and warns that odor cannot establish a safe MDI concentration. Its Publication 2006-149 on MDI exposure supports engineering controls, respiratory protection and worker training as part of the rig deployment plan.

A machine crate is therefore only one part of readiness. The handover file should contain the operating manual, wiring diagram, pneumatic diagram, parts list, maintenance intervals, gun-service procedure, TDS and SDS documents, plus a signed test sheet showing pressure, heat and ratio checks.

FAQ

Q: Does every Pioneer turnkey package include an air compressor?
No. The standard package contains one proportioner, one Fusion-compatible gun, two transfer pumps, 15 m of heated hose, a tool kit and an IPPC export case. Add the compressor as a separate quotation line after the machine, gun, two pumps and simultaneous air demand have been calculated.

Q: Are raw materials included in the $3,250–$11,200 spray foam machine package price?
Do not assume they are included. Specify the required polyurethane foam or polyurea chemistry, ratio, drum count, net kg per drum, TDS, SDS, COA availability and freight treatment; materials may be supplied with the equipment when listed in the signed BOM.

Q: How much heated hose is supplied?
The standard JYYJ package uses 15 m. Hydraulic configurations can be quoted with extensions up to 90 m, but the supplier must verify heating capacity, electrical load, pressure performance and the number of hose-control sections for the final length.

Q: Which machine fits pure polyurea work?
Select a hydraulic 36 MPa platform such as the JYYJ-H600, H600PK or H-V8T after checking the material TDS. The H600PK covers 2–10 kg/min with a 1:1–1:2 adjustable ratio; the fixed-ratio H-V8T covers 2–15 kg/min with 32 kW total power and 26 kW heating.

Q: What spare parts should arrive with the first machine?
Order a gun service set, mixing chamber sized for the planned output, side seals, O-rings, inlet filters, check-valve parts and the specified lubricant. Set quantities from planned spray hours and the 3–5 day airfreight replenishment window rather than accepting an unnamed “free spare kit.”

Q: How should I compare Pioneer with Graco or PMC?
Normalize the quotation to pressure in MPa or psi, output in kg/min or lb/min, hose length in m or ft, gun and pump quantities, heating kW, ratio control, voltage, spares, warranty exclusions and Incoterm. The lower number is meaningful only after both suppliers quote the same operational scope.
