The Challenge
Existing torch-on membrane developed recurring leaks at HVAC curbs. Customer needed weatherproof + insulation upgrade in one system without full tear-off. Winter temperatures demand R-30+ continuous performance.
Our Solution
Applied 60mm closed-cell SPF at 48 kg/m³ over prepped substrate using JYYJ-H-V8 at 36 MPa. Self-flashed around 32 penetrations. Finished with 30 mil reflective silicone topcoat for UV protection and cool-roof benefit.
What Pioneer Delivered
Not just a machine — a matched system, a trained crew on site, and after-sales backing end to end.
- On-site roof survey — moisture scan, drain mapping and detailing of all 32 penetrations before spraying — so the new SPF bonds over a sound deck instead of trapping old leaks.
- A single-source system — the JYYJ-H-V8 machine, the closed-cell foam and the reflective silicone topcoat matched and warranted together, not waterproofing, insulation and equipment sourced from three suppliers who blame each other.
- A spray crew trained for flat-roof self-flashing and topcoat consistency — the hard part of SPF roofing is even thickness and clean penetration detailing, and we own it.
- Flood-test QA and a phasing plan built around the warehouse's operation — 4,200 m² re-roofed in 11 working days with no full tear-off and no shutdown of the logistics floor below.
- Ongoing remote support for topcoat re-coat scheduling and re-order of the exact matched foam and silicone — so future roof areas or maintenance are a phone call, not a new project.
Execution Process
-
1 · Roof Survey & Surface Prep
The existing torch-on membrane is inspected, wet insulation cut out, and the substrate cleaned and dried so the spray foam bonds over a sound deck. Drains and the 32 penetrations are mapped before any application.
-
2 · Setup & Self-Flashing
The JYYJ-H-V8 is staged on the roof and set to 36 MPa, with proportioner and hose temperatures dialed in for 48 kg/m3 closed-cell foam. Curbs, drains and the 32 penetrations are pre-detailed so the foam self-flashes each one monolithically.
-
3 · SPF Spray Application
Spray 60 mm of closed-cell SPF at 48 kg/m3 with the JYYJ-H-V8 at 36 MPa, building a seamless self-flashed membrane that drains to positive slope and eliminates ponding water. A 3-person crew sustains roughly 380 m2 per day.
-
4 · Silicone Topcoat & Return
Once the foam cures, a 30 mil reflective silicone topcoat is sprayed over the full field for UV protection and cool-roof reflectivity. The roof is flood-checked for drainage and handed back ready for service with a continuous R-30+ envelope.
Key Technical Highlights
Coating System
60 mm closed-cell SPF @ 48 kg/m³ + 30 mil silicone
Spray foam insulation and reflective silicone topcoat in one seamless system.
Spray Unit
JYYJ-H-V8 @ 36 MPa
High-pressure rig sustaining ~380 m²/day with a 3-person roofing crew.
Penetration Detailing
32 self-flashed
Foam self-flashes every curb and penetration — zero membrane seams to fail.
Thermal Performance
R-7 per inch
Closed-cell SPF builds the continuous R-30+ envelope the winters demand.
Ponding Water
Eliminated
Sprayed to positive slope so water drains instead of pooling and re-leaking.

Why This Model Is Commonly Selected
The JYYJ-H-V8 is the high-output flagship (32 kW motor, up to 2–15 kg/min at 36 MPa), commonly selected for large commercial roofing and industrial projects needing maximum continuous throughput. It replaces the earlier JYYJ-H800; field H800 units remain supported.
